 Curriculum Development

3D Printed Pleural Procedures Simulator

During my Masters in Education at UC Berkeley I developed a low-cost, high-fidelity pleural procedure simulator to addresses the current limitations of commercially available pleural simulators. By integrating three-dimensional printing technology and easily accessible materials, I was able to produce a simulator that closely replicates the feel of human tissue, allows ultra-sound use, and is adaptable for different patient anatomies and clinical scenarios. This work was published in ATS Scholar, and is now incorporated into the annual Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellows bootcamp, as well as the UCSF Internal Medicine Residency procedure days.

Fluoroscopy with Bronchoscopy Module

As part of the University of Washington WISH Online Learning Curriculum for bronchoscopy I worked with Rosemary Adamson, MBBS and Stephen Allison, MD, to develop a 10 minute video module for use of fluoroscopy with bronchoscopy. For this module was awarded the American Thoracic Society Innovations in Fellowship Education Award (2020) and I received 2nd Place in the Best of ATS Video Lecture Series (2020). Recently, in conjunction with Dr. Amy Morris, a module for “Managing Pneumothorax After Bronchoscopy” module was completed.

Women in Leadership Development (WiLD) Code Blue Leadership Skills Session

WILD is a leadership program available as a series of evening talks, workshops, and networking sessions available to those who identify as female residents and fellows at University of California San Francisco. As part of the annual UCSF Women in Leadership Development Program I created a 45-minute interactive session focusing on the skills of code leadership. This session was brought back in subsequent years by request of participants.
