University of California Berkeley Master’s in Education (2023-2024)

I have earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California - Berkeley. This program prepares individuals in the research methodologies needed to undertake research studies in health professions education. Through this collaborative relationship between UCSF and UC Berkeley I received mentoring from faculty in the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education and the UCSF Center for Faculty Educators. My thesis has been approved and filed as of May 2024, and my degree was conferred August 2024.


Harvard Macy Institute Program for Post-Graduate Trainees (2023)

This program is hosted by the Harvard Macy Institute, and is a a competitive three-day intensive professional development course for resident and fellows who seek to enhance their skills and scholarship as future academic clinician-educators. The course content is focuses on skills in teaching and learning and developing scholarship in medical education.


UCSF Health Professions Education Advanced Pathway (2022-2023)

I am currently enrolled in the UCSF Health Professions Education Pathway, which is a program with both education science courses, hands-on teaching experiences and a mentored scholarly project. The aim of this pathway is enable participants to apply theory to education practice, engage in education scholarship, promote excellence in teaching, develop curriculum, translate theory and novel strategies to the learning environment, and expand knowledge in the field of health professions education.


AAMC Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) Scholars Program (2019-2020)

I have completed the Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) program through the University of Washington Center for Leadership and Innovation in Medical Education and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). This is a longitudinal curriculum of six workshops for those interested in medical education research, the workshops include Measuring Educational Outcomes, Introduction to Qualitative Data Collection Methods, and Scholarly Writing: Publishing Medical Education Research.


Clinician Educator Pathway (2018-2020)

During residency I was selected as one of six residents in the Clinician Educator Pathway, a competitive longitudinal curriculum aimed at training residents for a career in medical education. Pathway requirements included production of scholarly work, formal training in teaching modalities, and settings with exposure to teaching in a variety of settings. In this pathway, I participated in staffing the various student-run clinics, teaching within the medical school, and presenting at well-attended conferences such as Academic Half day.
